Cynthia L. Finkelstein is a certified Life Coach and Professional Home Organizer through the American School for Professional Life Coaching. Although she was recently certified in March 2010, her experience in helping others (see definition of Life Coaching and Professional Home Organization below) goes back to her early childhood. Cynthia grew up in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. At a very young age, she enjoyed arranging items in her parents’ home. She realized that if items were arranged a certain way, it would make them easier to access and everyone would get their tasks done quicker and with less distractions. When she became a teenager, she would visit her friends’ homes and sometimes would offer to help organize a pantry or a cabinet in an orderly fashion. |
In her twenties, Cynthia worked as a fashion retail manager at various well-known department stores in the Northeast. She organized the departments down to the smallest items in the stock room and helped other managers in their departments with manifests, inventories, and staff assignments.
After Cynthia married in 1995, she established a network of friends whom she would visit and speak with them about enriching both their lives and their home surroundings. She began working more deeply in the community, helping others with home organization. If there were other issues in their lives, such as alcoholism, she would encourage her friends to seek a member of the clergy or other professional to find the best solution, and she would continue to be involved in the family’s life—especially if children were involved.
Cynthia has dealt with homemakers who appeared to suffer from depression and had little skills in home management. From here, Cynthia began to get involved in women’s lives and help them to see that they could achieve higher goals by setting goals and holding themselves accountable.
It was a natural progression at this stage of her life to pursue her certification as a Life Coach and Professional Home Organizer from the American School of Professional Life Coaching (www.ASPLC.org). She studied under Dr. Elliott Rosenbaum, Program Director, who has an amazing gift for teaching life coaching skills, business ethics, and advanced coaching techniques. The school has truly transformed Cynthia’s life and other women’s lives as a result.
